Launching The Brothan Community Pharmacy

Ssanyu Community Health Organisation (SCHO) proudly initiated the Brothan Community Pharmacy as a vital response to the healthcare needs of the Kyabakuza community. This project aims to enhance access to essential medications and health services for families living below the poverty line.

Ssanyu Community Health Organisation marks a significant step forward in addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the Kyabakuza community. Through this initiative, we aim to create a healthier and more informed population, paving the way for a brighter future. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Enhance Access to Medications: Provide affordable and essential medications to community members.

Key Components of the Pharmacy Project


Medication Accessibility:

Stock a range of essential medicines to treat common illnesses.

Implement pricing strategies to ensure affordability for low-income families.

Health Education Programs:

Conduct workshops and seminars focused on medication management, nutrition, and hygiene.

Involve local health experts to facilitate engaging and informative sessions.

Mobile Pharmacy Services:

Utilize mobile units to deliver medications and health services to remote areas.

Provide consultations and health screenings during outreach events.

Collaboration with Community Health Workers:

Train local volunteers to assist in pharmacy operations and health education efforts.

Foster partnerships with local clinics for shared resources and training opportunities.

Health Awareness Campaigns:

The camp is meant to solve these challenges Kyabakuza is a fast-growing community on the outskirts of Masaka, where many families live below the poverty line. Access to health services is limited, and the majority depend on small clinics that are often under-resourced. Preventable diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, and respiratory infections continue to affect children and adults. Poor sanitation, lack of clean water, and low awareness of preventive health practices worsen the situation.
